Inlays, like dental fillings, restore an area of the tooth broken down by decay or fracture but can be used on a larger surface area. This means they are useful when treating teeth at the back of the mouth, or in cases where a previous dental filling may have failed.
Onlays are designed to be used as partial dental crowns but require less of the natural tooth to be removed for application, therefore allowing for a minimally-invasive treatment. Onlays treat and repair the cusp of the tooth, which is the part that is most visible, and like inlays, they will be shade-matched to your natural teeth.
Dental Inlays and Onlays usually require two or more appointments to be fitted and placed, including a short waiting period while your bespoke restoration is made for you.
